MOJO 182 Sk8ter

I now have a MacBook Pro. Boy is this a learning curve. I am having a terrible time getting my cards to upload to my BLOG. I hope these pictures are OK.

This card is for the sketch challenge this week at the Mojo Monday Blog. I figured that this little skater dude would go well with this sketch. Boy cards are so difficult. The card looks so plain, I want to add some bling or ribbon with a bow -- but boys don't like bows. So here is my plain jane boy card -- LOL.

This is a stamp from The Greeting Farm. I purchased it to use with my new Copic Markers. I just love these markers. Coloring is so peaceful. Do you SU will ever carry Copic -- not likely huh?

Stamps: Sk8ter Ian
Inks: Not Quite Navy, Soft Suede, Early Espresso (marker)
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Confetti Cream, My Mind's Eye DP
Extras: Mat Pack, Paper Piercer, Spiral Punch, Antique Brads, Linen Thread, Copics

I thought maybe since I am the Featured stamper this week, maybe I should start stamping again. Well this is for the Monday Mojo Sketch Challenge. I think my MOJO has disappeared, but here is my card anyway. It actually looks better IRL. I guess I am going to need to practice taking photos again.

Have a great day,
Corie

CC268 & MOJO136

Today's color challenge is Ballet Blue, Old Olive and Barely Banana. I tried to do the teapot challenge too, but I just couldn't get it to work. I created 3 cards with the Upsy Daisy set, but they are in the recycle bin -- they were yucky. Hopefully I will have a chance again tomorrow. I really wanted to create a card for Roseanne, and her favorite flowers are daisies.

I used the sketch from this week's MOJO Monday challenge. I stamped the trees in Basic Black and then sponged around it with ballet blue, barely banana, and old olive. The sentiment is from the Three Little Words set. I masked it off to fit in the circles. The border punch is from EK success. I am hoping that it will be in the new catalog this summer.

Thanks for stopping by,
~Corie

CC265 ~ Color Challenge Sample

I came home from my parents on Sunday, and I had 244 emails waiting for me. One of them was a PM from Betty, the Color Challenge Hostess on SCS. She wanted to know if I would be interested in creating a sample for the challenge this week. I was so excited and scared to death at the same time. I think I read the email 3 times before I took a breath. I PM'd her back to tell her that I would be honored to create a card for the challenge. Then she sent me the colors -- Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise, and Soft Suede. The dessert option was to use your crimper.

Can you say OH NO? What was I going to create with these colors? I had no idea -- NOTHING was popping in my head. I hadn't created a card in several days, and I find that my MOJO slips away if I don't create a card every day. Does that happen to you? I decided to stop stressing, and wait until the morning. Then I thought what would be better to start my MOJO moving than the sketch from the MOJO Monday site? So as you can see I created this card with this week's MOJO Monday Sketch.

I flipped the sketch, but it's still the same. The turquoise and celery layers are from the Flocked Together DP. I used the crimper on the vertical piece. The crimper makes the DP look like ribbon IRL. I created a Puffy Flower, since I am truly addicted to these flowers -- I know I need to go to puffy flower rehab :o).

Thanks for stopping by!!

CC263 & MOJO131

I had this card in my head last night, but I didn't have time to create 2 cards. I wanted it to be a teen boy card. I figured I would do it with today's color challenge. Oh boy -- today's colors are Creamy Caramel, Pretty in Pink, and Dusty Durango. Not exactly what I would normally use for this card, and definitely not boy colors. I decided to give it a try anyway -- so here it is.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Mojo Monday 127

Brandon being sick has really put a cramp in my blogging and blurfing. I haven't been able to return comments or emails. I promise to get back to you as soon as I can.

This card is one that I created early this week for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I took pictures of it, but I haven't had a chance to post it.

I stamped the medallion from the Friends 24-7 set on the Kraft layer and then stamped the sentiment from the Thoughts and Prayers set over top of it. I really like this combination. The DP is retire :o( it's call Parisian Breeze. The little adhesive dots are from a Halloween package that I picked up at the LPS.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to be able to create and post a card for today's sketch challenge later today. I guess it all depends on the sick boy :o)

MOJO126

3 posts in one day -- can you tell it's a Holiday? I was going to wait until tomorrow to post this, but I think Justin has wrestling practice tomorrow evening so I won't have time. And guess what it's snowing AGAIN -- oh boy. This card is for the Mojo Monday Sketch challenge for this week.

I know what you are thinking. Haven't I seen this card before? Well yes, I CASEd myself (you can see the original card here). I am sure you are sick of seeing my Purple and Green cards, not to mention the puffy flowers -- but I cannot help myself, I am addicted.

In case you haven't seen the tutorial for these puffy flowers you can find it here.

Thanks for stopping by!!

MOJO124

I made this puffy flower for the tutorial, and if I left it on my desk I knew it was going to get squished. So here is my third post for the day. I did a card for the MOJO Monday Sketch. I used the Cottage Wall DP again. I love Rich Razzleberry, it's so pretty, but very difficult to photograph.

One Mother's day card finished, only one more to do. I should be working on my Valentine's cards, but I thought this flower would make a nice Mother's Day card -- especially since I can't mail it -- LOL.

Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget about the puffy flower tutorial, and my MTSC card , it's a Valentines for one of Brandon's teachers that is a man.

MOJO122 & LSC256

I have tried to do the Mojo sketch several times this week. There are 3 cards in the recycle bin already. This one has been a real toughie for me. I decided to try again this morning, so I read the LSC challenge on SCS today. We are to create a card with a Palindrome. A Palindrome is a word that is the same forwards and backwards -- like Hannah (Brandon's girlfriend) or today's date 01/22/10.

This is the first time I have created something for the LS Challenge. I don't think I did it correctly. I didn't think about the fact that this was a LIMITED SUPPLY challenge until I started typing this post. Oh well here is my card anyway. I ended up flipping the sketch, and this is what came out.

Thanks for stopping by today, don't forget to scroll down to see this morning's card.

Faux Coloring -- MOJO121

This is another card with no stamping. These are Rub-ons, aren't they pretty? I am loving these rub ons. I made several more Holiday bags that I will show you soon.

I wish I could find a stamp like this. I just love the way the bear is looking up at the sky. I cut out around the flower, ribbon, and bows to give it a little more dimension. I used Night of Navy, Summer Sun, and Whisper White card stock.

I think this layout counts for the Mojo Monday #121 sketch , do you think so?

Paper: Night of Navy, Summer Sun, Whisper White

MOJO121

First of all, I have been informed that my youngest son is not little. You see, he created a card this morning (which you can see here) and I referred to him as my little one. He has requested that I tell you all that he is not little. -- he is too much some times.

Now my card -- I know that is the reason why you are here :o). This is my card for the Mojo Monday Challenge. Not a lot of stamping here, just the sentiment. I am loving this Welcome Neighbor Designer Paper Pad. Simple easy cards!!

Thanks for Stopping by,
Corie

MOJO120

This is my card for the MOJO Monday sketch challenge this week. Remember last week when I goofed up the challenge, well I used the same papers this week as I did on last week's card (that you can see here). I had a tough time with the ribbon. That notched out layer just wouldn't work.

To create the hearts, I used VersaMark to stamp the Bella Toile background stamp on whisper white card stock. Then I embossed it with black embossing powder. I punched the two hearts out with my Full Heart punch, and then I sponged them with Rose Red ink. The black layer is embossed with the heart block folder -- can you see that?

Stamps: Bella Toile
Paper: Rose Red, Whisper White, Basic Black, Baja Breeze DP
Inks: Rose Red, VersaMark
Extras: Heart border and Full Heart punches, Nesties, Cuttle bug, Heart Block embossing folder, white brads, white taffeta ribbon, dimensionals, sponges.

Mojo 119 -- I think

Remember this card? -- I messed up the Mojo challenge. OK -- I think this one qualifies for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge, but I am not sure. I moved the circle up a little, and I think it was supposed to be a little bigger. I can't seem to get this one right. I need to get back in the habit of doing the sketch challenges.

I didn't stamp very much on this card. The only thing I stamped was the sentiment. This is the new SAB double sided designer paper (that is available January 5th). Isn't it pretty!! It comes in a 6" x 6" pad of DP, (don't ya love that size?) This is one sheet -- one side is the clouds and one side is the homes.

Stamps: Circle of Friendship . Paper: Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, Whisper White, Welcome Neighbor DP . Inks: Bermuda Bay . Extras: 1/2", 1", 1-1/8", 1-3/8", 1-1/2", and Scalloped circle punches, dimesionals, Bermuda Polka Dot ribbon.

CC251 & MOJO119

Well this week's color challenge was a difficult one again. Barely Banana, Dusty Durango, and Basic Grey. I thought of autumn when I read these colors. I wanted to create something with the Lovely as a Tree stamp set, but then I thought of this old set Country Blessings. This is for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #119

I stamped the leaves and acorns with Basic grey, and colored them with Barely Banana and Dusty Durango. Then I look my blender pen and blended the colors.

Stamps: Country Blessings . Paper: Basic Grey, Dusty Durango, Natural Ivory, Autumn Meadows DP . Inks: Barely Banana, Dusty Durango, Basic Grey . Extras: Basic Grey Taffeta Ribbon, Cuttlebug and Nesties

MOJO75

Here is my card for this week's MOJO Monday Sketch Challenge. Can you believe it -- it's Monday morning, and my card is already done -- amazing? I looked at the sketch this morning, and I knew exactly what I wanted to do. That doesn't happen very often, I usually need to think about it a while.

This card is for a friend of ours. She is in the hospital on bed rest. She is 26 weeks pregnant and her water broke. They are hoping to make it to 34 weeks, but I am not sure how they will be able to do that. We are all praying, and keeping our fingers crossed.

I used the medallion from the Friends 24-7 set and the words from the Thoughts & Prayers set. The DP is from Making Memories, it is called Sabrina. I purchased the black adhesive dots from Joann's, they were on clearance -- gotta love that.

Stamps: Friends 24-7, Thoughts & Prayers Paper: Pretty in Pink, Basic Black, Whisper White, Sabrina DP Inks: Pretty in Pink, Basic Black Extras: Tool kit, Dimensionals, Eyelet punch, Black Adhesive Dots

Mojo 74

This card is for the MOJO74 Sketch challenge for this week. I just received this stamp set, but I haven't had much time to play. This one was one of my MUST HAVES from the new catalog.

I stamped the image with Chocolate Chip craft ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I stamped the image again in the background with River Rock, stamped off once.

Stamps: Friends 24-7 Paper: River Rock, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Ski Slope and Holiday Harmony DPs (both are retired Holiday papers) Inks: Chocolate Chip (Craft), River Rock Extras: Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Eyelet Edge 1-1/4" & 1-3/8" circle punches, Tool Kit, Chocolate Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals

Mojo 73

I missed the Mojo Challenge last week, it was a really good sketch too. Well lets be honest -- all of Julee's sketches are fantastic, I think she is one of the best out there =). I tweaked the sketch a little by doing a vertical card instead of a horizontal one, I hope that is OK. This picture seems a little dark -- Sorry.

I used my Lady Jane again, she is from Rubber Romance. I also used my new DP from Basic Grey called Sultry. I am lovin' this DP, it is so "springy". I colored her in with my Sharpie & Bic Markers.

Stamps: Jane
Paper: Pink Passion, PT White, Sultry DP
Inks: Staz on Black, Pink Passion
Extras: Sharpie & Bic Markers, Rose grosgrain ribbon, 1/8" circle punch, dimensionals, Flower brads, metal dots, Stickles

Mojo Monday 71

I need to catch up on all my other sketch challenges. I have been so focused on Taylor's Year of Cupcakes Challenge that I have not created anything for my other weekly challenges. This card is for the Mojo Monday #71 Sketch Challenge.

I picked up some Fairy images at Michael's, with a 40% off coupon. I have a love/hate relationship with those coupons. I stamped this image from the Beautiful Fairies stamp set from Inkadinkado. I colored her in with my Sharpie markers, and then sponged around her with Soft Sky and River Rock. The sentiment is the Best Yet stamp set from the Fall/Winter IBC Level 1 Hostess sets. The DP is from Basic Grey, it is called Two Scoops.

Stamps: Beautiful Fairies, Best Yet
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Basic Black, Whisper White, Two Scoops DP
Inks: Staz On Black, River Rock, Soft Sky, Sharpie Markers
Extras: Black Bobbin Ribbon, dimensionals, Curly Label Punch

Mojo 70

I wanted to do a flower for this sketch, but I do not have any tall thin flowers (yikes-- need to buy stamps). So I CASEd myself for Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. I need a birthday card for a friend, and she is very classy lady, so I thought of this stamp.

Stamps: Jane (Rubber Romance), Bella Toile
Paper: Basic Black, Basic Grey, Real Red, Whisper White
Inks: Black Staz' On, Craft White
Extras: Prisma color pencils, White Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Basic Grey Taffeta ribbon, tool kit, dimensionals, Star Dust Stickles, Corner Rounder Punch, Coluzzle Kit

MOJO Monday 69 & CC201

This is my card for Mojo Monday 69 and this week's Color Challenge 201. I really like the sketch, but I am not so sure about the colors. I wanted to create a few blue valentine's cards for the boys, but they just are not doing it for me.

I stamped the February stamp from Taylor's A Year Of Sweets 1 with Staz On Black. Then I water colored in the image with Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, and Creamy Caramel re-inkers. I colored the hearts and dots in with my Real Red Marker. Then I highlighted each red stop with Candy Cane Stickles (can you see that in the picture?). I stamped the heart from my sentiment several times and punched them out with my 1/2" circle punch. Then I used the clear dot from the Create a Brad set from SU!.

Stamps: A Year of Sweets 1, Love Is Sweet
Paper: Not Quite Navy, Whisper White, Urban Garden DP, Pattern Pack DP
Inks: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Creamy Caramel, Black Staz On,
Extras: Real Red Marker, Marvy Punches, 1/2" & 3/4" circle punches, red grosgrain ribbon, build-a-brad, dimensionals, Candy Cane Stickles, Paint brush
