This card had a mind of its own. I started out with the Inspiration Challenge. Our inspiration site this week is Oompa. I was inspired by the little stuffed toy that you can see here. I think this little one is so cute, and I love the flower on her tummy. That flower made me think of the Elegant Bouquet EF. I have no idea how I went from that inspiration to this card but that’s what happened. I guess that’s why they call this an inspiration challenge. :o)
I combined the Inspiration Challenge with the CAS challenge -- to use dry embossing. I embossed the white layer with diagonal lines with my paper cutter/scorer, and then embossed it again with the Elegant Bouquet EF. I colored in the vines (certainly celery), flowers (daffodil delight), and flower centers (pretty in pink) with markers. I tied my ribbon, and I thought I was done. Then I remembered the Free 4 All challenge from Friday was to use something new. I just received these adhesive rhinestones, so I put them on the flower centers.
Now you see my 3 challenge card, do ya like it?
Thanks for stopping by!!

CAS74 ~ Celebration
Yippee 2 days in a row with cards. I know you are thinking, "it's about time." Life has really gotten in the way of my stamping lately. Then throw in all the camping, and I am in withdrawal. Well the new caddie is out, so I am determined to try and get back to stamping every day!!

I have a few minutes this morning before I need to take Brandon to school, so I thought I would pop in here for a second.

CAS64 ~ Happy Birthday Ms. Boo
Today's CAS challenge is to create a birthday card using orange. Yep you read that correctly -- ORANGE -- not my fav. Today is Jen's (aka Ms. Boo) birthday, and her favorite color is orange. Well orange can't be all that bad, 'cuz Jen is such a sweetie. So this one's for you Ms. Boo.
I do have to say that pumpkin pie is difficult to photograph. The white background kept turning grey-blue. I hope you can see this OK -- I took about 20 pictures, and this was the only one that was half way decent.

I haven't posted or created anything in a week. My RAK from June was supposed to post on Sunday, not Thursday -- wonder what happened there. Well at least you were able to see the BEAUTIFUL card that June created for little ole me.

CAS61 ~ Sentiments
Today's CAS (Clean & Simple) challenge was to create a card where the only thing you stamped was the sentiment. This was a great challenge for me, 'cuz I didn't have a lot of time to create a card. I used my new Sweet Pea DP, the paper piercer, and a few punches -- easy peasy.

CAS60 & LPS61
I think Blogger is back up, but who knows. Please let me know if you cannot see my card
The good thing is that this card qualifies for the Color Challenge on LPS. The colors this week are Kraft, Chocolate, and Yellow. I CASEd the card on page 43 of the Mini catalog. I used Barely Banana instead of the Bashful Blue. I changed the embossing folder and the background shape, but it is basically the same. Can you see that I colored the dots in the flowers chocolate and the dots around the flowers white? I'm not sure if the white dots are showing up very well, but they are IRL. I embossed the bunny on Kraft CS, in case you were wondering where my Kraft layer is.
Stamps: Chocolate Bunny, Well Scripted
Paper: Barely Banana, Kraft, Whisper White
Inks: Chocolate Chip -- classic, craft, and marker
Extras: Clear embossing powder, Heat gun, Cuttle bug, Petals-A-Plenty Embossing Folder, Wide Oval punch, White Gel pen, button, linen thread, Saffron ribbon
The inside:

Well here is my card for the CAS challenge. I wanted to redo my card from last week, so I guess this sketch was a good thing. I used Navy, Red and White. These are the colors for my oldest son's Wrestling team. I wanted to make cards for the boys for their banquet, and I thought these would be good for teen-age boys. What do you think? Should I take out the Kraft layer and only use white?

CAS55 ~ Makeover
Today's CAS (Clean & Simple) challenge is to makeover one of our cards. I chose to redo the second card that you can see here, (the first one is Brandon's). I need to make a few Teenage boy cards, and my boys have told me to use stars -- so that's what I am going to do :o).

Did anyone see the Race yesterday? It was so good, LONG LONG LONG but what a finish. I really wanted Junior to pull it out, but second isn't bad. Jeff finished near the top, and poor Jimmie had a terrible day.

CAS54 ~~ Wishing for Spring
Once again the boys do not have school, it's President's Day. To top it off they are calling for another snow storm today. If they are off school again tomorrow, I might go CRAZY. We have had a fun time this past week, but it is time to get back to the normal schedule.
Brandon set his alarm for 5 am this morning, so he could create his CAS card for the week. Here is his card, and of course I haven't had a chance to do mine.

Well Brandon did set his alarm for 12 this morning to do the CAS challenge today. One problem -- he didn't wake up, I did -- long enough to turn it off.

CAS52 -- One more time
Yesterday morning Brandon and I created 2 cards for the CAS challenge on SCS. He did his first, and then I did one. My card was really a CASE of his. I didn't realize how close they were, until I read the comments on SCS. My card looks like I slipped the pink scallop squares under the chocolate hearts. His looks very masculine and mine looks girly -- too funny.

Today's CAS Challenge was a sketch challenge. The kids had a 2 hour delay this morning, so Brandon was able to do the challenge again. This first card is his. We have been making his Valentine's cards for his class, and this DP was out on my desk. We were able to use scraps -- ya gotta love that. He planned out the card, but I tied the ribbon and stamped the sentiment for him.

These 2 (3" x 3") cards are for the CAS51 challenge on SCS today -- we were to use DP on our cards. The card on the left was created by Brandon (my 10 year old) and the one on the right is mine. Brandon is off school AGAIN today. They have been off 3 of the 4 Mondays in January, tough life huh?

CAS50 -- By Brandon
Brandon (my 10 year old -- see I didn't say my little one, even though he is) created a card for the CAS challenge last week. He was so tickled with all the comments he received here and at my gallery on SCS. He wanted to thank each and everyone of you that commented on his card. I also want to thank you -- it made his day. The kids were off school, and I didn't think he was going to want to do a card again -- but I was wrong.
This card was designed by Brandon with a little help from me. He liked my card (which you can see here), but he wanted to do a group of hearts-- "like a bunch of balloons". That meant him using my Cuttle bug with my new Heart embosslit -- can you say PANIC. Then he wanted to use my BRAND NEW Shades of Spring DP (Gasp). Then to top it off he wanted to use this velvet ribbon (retired SU) to tie the bunch together. Do you know how hard it is to tie velvet ribbon? Well this is the card that we came up with.
I forgot to mention before that the idea to punch out the hearts and put them through the embosslit came from my friend LeAnne (thanks sweetie). We were REALLY careful with my embosslit Click here to see why. This also is for the Challenge this week at the Little Paper Shop -- we were to use buttons on our cards.
Thanks for stopping by,
Corie

Today's CAS (Clean & Simple) challenge on SCS was to use Taken with Teal, Whisper White, and a color of your choice on a card. I chose Green Galore -- can you imagine? When was the last time you used Green Galore?
I saw the little valentine's cards that were published in the Stampin' Success magazine this month, and I knew I was going to create one of these for myself.
I punched the Taken with Teal heart out with my Full Heart punch and then ran it through my cuttle bug with my Heart Embosslit. Then I ran Whisper White through without punching it out. Doesn't that make a nice layered heart? I punched out half a oval with my Wide oval punch and moved it a little and punched again for the stem of my flower. The little leaf is the small heart punch. Cute isn't it?
Stamps: A Happy Heart
Paper: Taken with Teal, Whisper White, Green Galore, Welcome Neighbor DP
Inks: Basic Black, Taken with Teal
Extras: Sponges, Cuttle bug, Scalloped heart of Hearts Embosslits, Wide Oval, Full and small heart punches
