Boy this cold is kicking my butt. It has now gone into my chest. I think yesterday is the first day in over a month that I created only one card. I spent the day yesterday laying on the couch watching TV, which if you know me that's unusual -- I don't watch TV.

The Featured Stamper this week on SCS is Karen Barber. I just discovered Karen in the last few weeks. I have been trying to do all of the challenges at SCS, and she has commented on just about all of my submissions. She is a really talented lady -- go visit. I think she is the Queen of the Black Magic technique!! She has created so many wonderful cards with this technique. I will probably do 2 cards for this challenge, 'cuz I want to do one with this technique but I don't have the energy right now. So here is the card that I CASEd from Karen's Gallery WT188Country Snowfolks. Here are the things that I changed:

• Ruby Red card stock instead of Riding Hood Red
• Black brads are below the image instead of above
• Holiday Lineup Stamp Set instead of Window Dressing
• Did not do the Faux stitching at the top -- although looking at my card maybe I should have
• Scalloped and Large oval instead of Large and Small.
• Added a button to my bow and tied ribbon differently
• Used Simple Stripes BG instead of Classic Stripe

In case you cannot tell the red layer is card stock not DP. I used the Simple Stripe BG stamp to create the plaid background. I haven't used my BG stamps in a while, I think I need to get them out and start using them again.

I think I am coming down with a cold, so I don't know whether I will have 2 cards today. It's also wrestling practice tonight, which usually takes all evening. We'll see -- I saw the sketch challenge, and I know exactly what I want to do, but you know how that is sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

This is a quick card that I created last night for the challenge at the Little Paper Shop -- to use buttons. This is another one of my rub-ons.

Holiday Bag

Isn't my coloring beautiful on this bag? Just kidding, this is a rub-on -- but it is rREALLY pretty!!

I couldn't sleep last night. That's been happening a lot lately. I think that's why I have been able to post things here twice a day. I am sure that my energy will poop out soon -- so beware. I was going to create some cards, but then I decided to clean out our Computer Cabinet. It has been a scary site for a while. Everyone just stuffs everything in there. It was so full that when you put something in there you had to close the door REALLY fast, so things wouldn't fall out. While I was cleaning it out I found all kinds of stuff -- like these Rub-ons. I think I bought them at an "After-Christmas" sale in 2000.

I adhered the rub-on onto a piece of Not Quite Navy card stock. Then mounted it on a layer of whisper white and basic black. Then I used Sticky Strip to attach it to this plain white bag. Presto, I have a cute bag for the Holidays. That is one more project for my stash for next year. I have the Post-It Note Holders and these bags, am I on a roll or what?

Post-It Note Holder

I created 2 cards for the Stampin 411 Challenge, but my batteries are dead -- so no pictures. So you get to see a project that I created a few days ago.

I picked up several Snowflake post-it note pads at Michael's a few days ago. They were $.33 (yep -- 33 cents). I decided to make little post-it note holders with Dawn's tutorial. My measurements are a little different. Her pads are 3" x 3" and mine are 3-3/4" x 3-3/4", but you get the idea. I am going to try and create several Christmas projects throughout the year so I am not scrambling at the last minute.

Here is a card that I created with the Home for Christmas stamp set. I thought it was appropriate for today. I used the same layout that I have been using for the past few days, but I flipped it.

I haven't done a sketch challenge in a while, so I decided to try yesterday's challenge. Boy was this one HARD!!! I couldn't get anything to work, so you will have to settle with this one. I think I will try again with a Valentine's theme, maybe I am just burnt out on Christmas cards.

I colored this image with my prisma markers, and then sponged everything -- each and every layer, including the snowflake.

Little Box

Boy it is difficult to take a good picture of something with a window sheet. If the picture was good, then there was glare on the plastic. If there was no glare then the picture was terrible. I hope you can see this little box, it really is pretty.

I created this box with the "Tag Box" tutorial on SCS. It is very easy to create, the only difficult part was scoring the window sheet. I found that if you line a ruler up on the score line, and then fold the window sheet over the ruler to score -- it work out pretty good.

The tutorial shows that you can create gift tags and place them in the box, but there are so many things you could put in it. I chose to put some more tea light candles in mine (just like the ones that I created for my drawer box) . I think this would be a great gift for a hostess or maybe a teacher -- or I guess anyone.

Here is another card that I created with the Holiday Lineup Stamp set. I used the same layout and techniques as yesterday, but this time I used the elf stamp. I really like the look of this card, but I think I need a red layer instead of the olive one to make things pop.

Reindeer Lineup

This is a card that I created with the Holiday LineUp Stamp set. I absolutely love this set. I decided to try this set with Kraft card stock. I have seen so many ladies use kraft instead of white to make "vintage" card. I stamped the image and colored it in with my Primsa markers. I sponged all the layers with Soft Suede ink.

Holiday Tag Envelope

Here is a tag envelope holder that I created with a tutorial from Andrea. This was the Week 11 project from her "12 Weeks of Christmas". This envelope holds 10 gift tags. Isn't it pretty. I created one with a whisper white ( the open one) and one with real red (the closed one). I'm not sure which one I like better. What do you think?

Gift Card Holder

This is another Gift Card Purse like the one yesterday. This time I used the snowflade DP from the Holiday Mini.

Gift Card Purse

Isn't this adorable? It is a little purse to hold a gift card. I created this with a tutorial that I saw on Angie Juda's site (Chic 'N Scratch).

I used the DP from the Holiday Mini. This is the first one, I used the flocked DP. ( I will show you another one tomorrow with the snowflake DP from that same package.) I was able to create 4 of them from one sheet of DP.

Drawer Box

Remember the little drawer box that I created here? Well I did another one -- only this one is smaller. I made this box measure 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" -- perfect to hold 4 tea light candles. Now that I look at the box, I think it needs ribbon -- I'll add some later.

Several ladies out there have made LOTS of these tea light candles. I made mine with the snowflake from the Level 1 Hostess set from the Holiday Mini catalog. They are so simple!!!

You stamp your image on tissue paper. Punch a 1/8" hole in the middle of the image (this is where the candle wick goes). Then punch your image out with your 1-3/8" circle punch. Feed the wick through the hole and place the tissue paper right on top of the candle. Place the tea light on a flat surface -- DO NOT hold the candle with your fingers, it gets HOT -- don't ask me why I know this ;o). Hold the tissue paper down with a pair of tweezers and heat the tea light with your heat gun. When you see that the wax has melted over the tissue paper stop and let it cool. Neat idea huh?

I created this little stocking gift card holder yesterday. It is this weeks project from Andrea's (Sunny Stampin) 12 weeks of Christmas. It is so adorable!! The top pivots on a brad so you can slide the gift card in the stocking.

Here are 2 more cards that I CASEd from Laura from Scrapnextras. I used the rest of my retired Cranberry DP.

I don't know whether you can tell from the picture, but I stamped the tree image in Cranberry Crisp and then with Old Olive. I cut out the Old Olive one and mounted it on top of the Cranberry Crisp one. I think this added a little bit of dimension to the card.

I cased this card by Laura from Scrapnextras. I have looked at her card for about a year, I absolutely love it. I wanted to create on exactly like it, but I couldn't find my Wintergreen DP. I did find this retired paper, that is very similar. This is the one when Cranberry Crisp was one of the In-Colors.
