Sympathy

I'm really not here. I am camping with the boys. This is set up to post on Saturday, so I hope it works.

I needed several Sympathy cards this week, so that means that I need to replenish my stash. You know you never want to create a sympathy card when you need one -- so it's always a good idea to have some on hand.

I used one of the sketches from the "Go to Sketches" magazine from Paper crafts. You all really need to pick this issue up, it's FANTASTIC.

Thanks for stopping by,

SC278 & CC268

This is for yesterday's sketch challenge and Tuesday's color challenge. I still couldn't create a card with daisies for Roseanne, so I guess these flowers will have to do. I colored and sponged the flower from Elements of Style to create my "DP" on the squares.

Thanks for stopping by!!

FS167 ~ Dara

Today's Featured Stamper on SCS is Dara. I chose to CASE the card that you can see here. I changed several things, but the gitz is the same. I masked off the bottom and the sun, sponged the colors, and then stamped the image and the sentiment. I added the brads, but I didn't add anything else 'cuz I wanted to keep it a CAS card.

Thanks for stopping by!!

WT253 & SC263

Here is another Sympathy card, I am almost done filling up my stash. I hope I am not depressing you with all these sympathy cards, and my whining yesterday -- sorry.

Yesterday I said that my sketch challenge card was not meant to be? (You can see the post here) Well, I guess I lied. I check the Way to Use It Challenge on SCS this morning, and guess what -- the challenge was to use birds. I guess God wanted me to try this card again, this is my card for the sketch challenge and the way to use it challenge. It is not exactly what I did yesterday, but it is as close as I could get with the limited amount of Bella Bleu DP that I have left.

I stamped my bird with Chocolate Chip Craft ink, then embossed it with clear embossing powder. I colored in my image with markers and blender pen. I don't know whether you can see the branch very well, but I liked how it turned out. I colored the bottom with close to cocoa, the top with creamy caramel, and then filled in with blush blossom. I blended it all with my blender pen.

Stamps: Friends 24-7, sentiment
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Brocade Blue, Whisper White, Bella Bleu DP
Inks: Chocolate Chip (craft and classic), Brocade Blue, Old Olive, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Blush Blossom, Bordering Blue
Extras: Cuttle bug, Nesties & shapeabilities, sponges, Chocolate Taffeta ribbon, button, clear embossing powder, heat gun, blender pen

SSC133

Here is a "Normal" Sympathy card. I used traditional colors on this one (unlike yesterday). This card is for the Sketch challenge on the Stamping 411 site.

I have seen so many ladies create cards with this brayered skyline technique, so I thought that I would try it for a sympathy card. I brayered (is that a word?) the bottom of the image with Bashful Blue, and the top with Not Quite Navy. Then I stamped the reeds with Basic Black, and colored in the cattails with a black marker. The blue on the sentiment is brayered with bashful blue.
Thanks for stopping by today!!

CC253

I made 8 Sympathy cards (remember these) in November, and would you believe all of them are gone. So I created a few new ones. I know these are not traditional colors for a sympathy card, but my husbands mother and her sisters are CRAZY about purple. So I need purple cards in my stash. I will show you a normal one that I created tomorrow.

This card uses the color challenge today on SCS -- Pretty in Pink, Rich Razzleberry, and Chocolate Chip. I think I pushed the limits of the challenge again. The razzleberry is obvious, but I bet you are thinking -- where is the pretty in pink. It's there, it is sponged with chocolate chip.

Thanks for stopping by,
Corie

Another Sympathy Card

Here is another Sympathy card that I created with the same layout. This one uses Not Quite Navy instead of Basic Grey.

Sympathy Card

Unfortunately I needed a sympathy card. This is a case of a card that I created earlier, which you can see here. I really love this sketch. This time I used the To the Nines DP -- it adds the perfect about of texture. You could use this card for any occasion, not just sympathy. The only embellishment I used was the white brads, but this card has lots of layers.

SC236 -- again

This is another card that I had created from the SC236 sketch challenge. When each challenge comes out I look at the inspiration card, then I create my card, and then I go back and look at the gallery. I never look at the gallery first, 'cuz I think that it will influence my creation. Well after I created the card for Brandon's birthday, I went an browsed the gallery. I found this card, and fell in love. So I created one of my own, but I used the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set instead.
