Calendar

Here we are at the end of February, and I am making a calendar. I know -- I'm strange. I have been wanting to create one of these calendars for a while, but I did not have the Top Notes Die. Well I finally do. I first saw this calendar on Cami's BLOG. The original tutorial is here on Nancy's BLOG.

I used Kraft cs for the frame, it's a 5-1/2" x 8 1/2" piece. On each side the solid card stock is 4" x 5-1/4", and 2" x 5-1/4". The designer paper is called Four Seasons, and it has been retired from SU for a while. The striped side of the designer paper is 3-3/4" x 5" and 1-13/16 x 4-3/16. The pattern side of the designer paper is cut with the Top Note Die. The season was stamped with alphabet stamps, cut with the Curly Tab punch, and then layered behind vanilla hardware.

April

Here is the April page of my calendar. I used the Level 2 Hostess set, Serene Spring.

Again, I colored the image with my color pencils, and blended the colors with my blender pen.

This stamp set was in the summer mini. I don't know whether you can see from the picture, but I put crystal effects on the apples to make them look 3-D -- too cute don't ya think?

Here is my August page.

This is from the Winds of Grace Stamp set. This set is so nice for Guy cards. I created several cards for guys this past year with this set, but sadly it is retiring.

July

Here is the July version of my Calendar.

I do not have any Independence Day stamps, so I used a flower instead. This stamp is from On Gossamer's Wings -- a retired set from Stampin' UP! I cannot wait for the new catalog. I need a military or independence day set.

June

Here is the calendar that I did for June. I think you all have seen this before, but I cannot find the post. I used the Back Nine stamp set for this. Like all the rest of the pages, I colored the image in with my color pencils and blended the colors with my blender pen. I used Soft Sky reinker to color the background.

Oops, I forgot to take a picture of April, so here is May. This stamp is from the Hostess Level 2 set in the current catalog. This set is soon to be retired. Again, I colored in the image with my color pencils, and then blended the colors with my blender pen.

March

Here is the March version of my Calendars. I used the Cardinal stamp, and colored him in with my color pencils to make him a Blue Jay.

February

Here is the February Version of my Calendars. This is the only non-Stampin' UP! stamp that I used for the calendars. I colored in all the images for each month. I wanted to have roses for February, and I do not have any SU rose stamps, except Wild Rose.

I colored this image in with my color pencils and then blended the colors with my Blender Pen. I started with a red rose, but it did not look very pretty. For some reason I have been partial to purple, so I hope this flower still works for February.

January

Here is the January Calendar for my set. I used Flaky Friends, which was one of the first stamp sets I ever purchased. I was so sad to see this set retire a few years ago, I think it is a classic.

I colored the image in with markers, and then outlined the snowman with my grey color pencil for dimension.

Special Calendars

I created some special calendars for some special people in my life. These calendars are the typical ones that you put in a CD jewel case.

I used MS Word to create the calendar portion. The first time you set up all your months it takes a little while to line all the numbers up. Then you just edit your document for each following year. If anyone wants a copy of the word document, just email me and I will send it to you.

Here is a picture of the cover. I used the Inspired by Nature stamp set. This is such a beautiful stamp set. I cannot wait to play with it a little more after the Holidays. I colored the sections in with my markers, and then I used a few sponge daubers to soften the ink. Easy huh, and so pretty.

Another Calendar

Here is the calendar for July. This was such a cute idea that Janet had. We stamped the fish, and then used the scallop punch to create the fish bowls. Then we used crystal effects on the inside to create the water in the bowl. Great idea huh?

Here is another calendar that we created at Miss Janet's Stamp Camp. Hope you like it.

OK the camera is working. I think it is only temporary. It will only hold one picture, and then it shuts down. I really cannot complain, this camera is one of the original digital cameras. I think we purchased it in 1997. The sad thing is the kids have newer ones than I do. Well I think this means that I NEED a new camera for myself.

This is June's page for my calendar. This is from the retired set "The Back Nine". I stamped the image with Timber Brown Staz On ink. I colored the image in with my watercolor pencils, and blended the colors with my Blender pen. I watercolored the background with soft sky re-inkers.

August

This is the calendar for August. I used Winds of Grace for this page. I just really love this stamp set for Guy cards.

December's Calendar

Here is my December calendar. I used Sleigh Bells Ring. I REALLY LOVE this stamp set. I stamped the image with timber brown Staz on ink, and colored it in with my water color pencils. I then used my blender pen to soften the colors.

Surprise

Guess what this is not a Criss Cross card -- can you believe it? I told you all that I am a creature of habit, I guess you all did not believe me. If any of you do a criss cross card, please let me know. I would love to see them!!!

Well this is the first month of my 2009 calendars. Yes you read that correctly 2009. You see I am always scrambling at the end of the year to do holiday cards and calendars, but not this year. I have promised myself that I will do at least 10 holiday cards and 1 month's worth of calendars each and EVERY month.

So I started with November, do not ask me why just weird I guess. I used Always on my Mind (retired). I originally purchased this set to do calendars, but it is really time consuming. I stamped the image with timber brown staz on ink, and then colored it in with my watercolor pencils. Then I used my blender pen to soften all the edges. Did I mention that I am doing 24 calendars? Crazy I know.
