Another Call for RAK Cards.

Kelly at Diaries of a Stamper is asking for cards. Read her story below. We all make cards all the time, and I think this is a FANTASTIC idea. I know I have already asked you to make one for Lois, but this is a good cause too. Please keep K in your thoughts and prayers.

Kelly's daughter Stephanie's best friend "K" is in need of some RAK's........Please."K" is 12 years old and had been Stephanie's friend since kindergarten. "K"had surgery to remove her large intestine and colon yesterday. She will now have a bag attached to her small intestine that comes through a port in her stomach, to remove waste from her body. She will be out of school for the rest of the year recovering, she will remain in hospital for about 10 days if all goes well and no infection arises. Her family had to travel a long distance to have this surgery done as we don't have a children's hospital in area.

Kelly thought it would be nice to shower her with well wishes when she gets home. She would love to have your help to do this, if you would like to send her a card you can email Kelly at kellyshadow@yahoo.com and she will give you the info. Please keep "K" and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Morning Soft for Lois

Here is another card that I created with the Morning Soft Stamp set. I actually created three of these. I did one using chocolate chip instead of basic black. That one is pretty, but the chocolate does not POP like the black does. Then I created one using the same layout as yesterday's card, but no ribbon. Then I did this one. I think I actually like this one without the ribbon the best, -- imagine that less embellies and I like it best.

I stamped the image with Basic Black craft ink and then embossed it with black. I painted the flowers with Groovy Guava, and the leaves with River Rock. After it dried I went over all the lines again with straight reinker ink (no added water). This gave the flowers and leaves dimension.

I will be sending this card to Lois (see this post). I thought this would be a pretty card to cheer her up.

Stamps: Morning Soft, En Francias
Inks: Groovy Guava, River Rock, Black Craft
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Brocade DP and Embrace Life DP
Extras: Black embossing powder, Heat gun, Ticket corner and slot punch, dimensionals, paint brush, sponge, white gel pen, Ribbon

A Request

I saw the following post on Tanis' site. We all make so many cards, and this is such a good cause.

Wilna, over at http://www.wilnaf.blogspot.com/ has the following request:

"I have a friend, Lois. She is 40 years old and has cancer. She is in pain and needs positive, uplifting people to remind her continually to live and that life is worth living. She has an amazing husband and four beautiful kids. The doctors are not giving her long to live, but I believe that God is the author of life. And I know you believe that too...

If you want to be entered into this awesome draw for a RAK(and if anyone want to contribute prizes, big or small, please email me) then this is what you are going to do: take 10 minutes of your time and create a card for Lois. A card that speaks of life and laughter, of fun and flowers. A word of encouragement, maybe your favorite scripture.

Take a picture of it and upload it HERE for all to see. Then you post (mail) it to her. I visit her every day and I will make a list of all the cards she gets and I will let her draw names out of a hat for winners.

The deadline for all the cards to reach her in Canada is March 20th. So, if you want to play (and I hope every single person that reads this will) make her a card, and post (mail) it. THAT's how simple it will be.

Please email me: wilna71@gmail.com if you want to participate. I will email you her address.

Those who are willing to add this little {ART} flower to your blog to help me get the word out, will be in my good books for life. You can just right click the image and save it to your computer and add it to a side bar. Please link THIS post to it."

Drum Roll Please

The boys and I have picked a name. We printed off all the comments 3 times, and cut them all out. Then we put 1 of every one's name in a BIG Tupperware bowl. Then we put 1 of the all the ladies that commented on the "Going Pink" post. Then we put 1 of all the ladies that subscribe to my site. This always takes so long, I do not know why I do this. Well yes I do, the boys LOVE doing this. OK the winner is:

We Need Your Help

Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on 'donating a mammogram' for free (pink window in the middle).

This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors /advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.

Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.

Click Here to Give - it's FREE

PLEASE TELL 10 FRIENDS TO TELL 10 TODAY

Don't forget about my donation, click here for details.
