MMSC35

Last week was the first time I participated in the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. These ladies welcomed me to their challenge with open arms. I think everyone on the Design Team commented on my card -- they each said such nice things. That is the first time that's happened when I posted a card on a challenge site. It was SO NICE. You know it really puts a smile on your face when someone takes the time to comment on your cards. This will be one of my goals for the new year -- to comment more often.

So onto my card for this weeks sketch challenge -- Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 35. This card is for a girls birthday (Brandon's girlfriend). I colored her in with my Prisma markers.

Stamps: Beautiful Fairies, sentiment
Paper: Lavender Lace, Whisper White, White (PT), The Glitter Mat Stack DP
Inks: Lavender Lace, Tuxedo Black
Extras: Prisma Markers, Cuttle bug, Ribbon Tag Shapeabilities, Sponges, Retired Ribbon (It was one of the Ribbon Originals packages)

Here is my card for Jen's Sketch for You to Try. This card is very similar to my one for Taylor's Sketch Challenge that you can see here. I used the birds from my new Inkadinkado set again, and I also used Hannah DP from K-OLOGY again. I didn't color the birds blue this time. I wanted an aged look, and the blue looked to bright.

Stamps: Best Friends, Circle of Friendship Paper: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Groovy Guava, Natural Ivory, Hannah DP Inks: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive Markers (for faux stitching) Extras: Sharpie Markers, Chocolate Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensionals, 1/2", 1", 1-1/8", & 1-1/4" circle punches, tool kit

Here is my card for Taylor's Weekly Cupcake Challenge. I did not use a cupcake this week, (amazing, I know), and I kinda changed the sketch. The vertical stripe is a little wider than the original sketch. But as Taylor says the sketches are meant for inspiration if your creation turns out a little different that's OK.

These birds are from the "Best Friends" stamp set from Inkadinkado, aren't they adorable? I am trying new permanent black inks with my Sharpies, to see which one works best. I picked up Brilliance Graphite Black ink by Tsukineko from Michales. This ink reminds me of Craft ink from SU. It smeared a little, but that might have been because I didn't let it dry enough.

I colored the image in with my Sharpie Markers, and then sponged around it with River Rock Ink. To make it look a little "aged", I overstamped it with Creamy Caramel and the Linen Background stamp. That blue is not as bright IRL as it looks in the picture. I layer this on top of my new designer paper is from K-OLOGY, it is called Hannah.

Stamps: Best Friends, Linen, Circle of Friendship Paper: Natuals Ivory, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Groovy Guava, Paper Trey White, Hannah DP Inks: River Rock, Old Olive, Creamy Caramel, Brilliance Black, Chocolate Chip Marker Extras: Sharpies, Sponge Dauber, Chocolate Taffeta Ribbon, Tool Kit, Dimensionals, 1/2", 1", 1-1/8", & 1-1/4" circle punches

TECC53 -- Again

Here is another card that I created with Taylor's Sketch challenge. I did not used a cupcake stamp this time, but isn't she as cute as a cupcake :).

I stamped the image and colored her in with my sharpie markers. To make the sky, I sponged around her with bashful blue ink. I was going to put the butterfly in her hand, but then I thought the heart would work, what do you think? The brads are from the Target $1 spot.

Stamps: Beautiful Fairies Paper: Pink Passion, Orchid Opulence, Slumber Party DP (retired a LONG time ago) Inks: Black Staz on, Bashful Blue Extras: Orchid grosgrain ribbon, Heart Brads, Dimensionals, Sharpie Markers, Sponges
