Featured Stamper

This week's Featured Stamper is Neva. You can see here fabulous gallery here. Neva is the Queen of combining challenges. So in her honor I did a challenge combo for her CASE. I chose her card that you can see here.

My card is for the Featured Stamper Challenge, the Color Combo Challenge, the Sketch Challenge, and the Way to Use It Challenge (all for this past week). This week, I have been struggling with each of these challenges. I created a separate card for each challenge, but all of them ended up in the trash. Well today I saw the polka dot paper in Neva's card it made me think of the polka dot paper in the Cutie Pie DP -- and that's all it took. Thanks Neva you really inspired me!!!!! Did I do you proud -- 4 challenges in one card?

WOW I am the Featured Stamper

Hi Ladies,

Guess what I am the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast this week. Imagine that -- I am as surprised as you are. It's been a while. Life has been really crazy. I have created a few cards, but have not taken pictures, so sorry. I plan to upload a few and get back into blogging, but life just seems to get in the way. Between Football and Wrestling we have no time for anything else. The boys are not in any Spring sports, so maybe I can stamp.

So Last night I went on SCS to find some ideas for a Sympathy card, and I noticed that Beth had PMed me. I looked and it was a LONG post about Featured Stampers. So I looked at the challenge this week, and guess what it was me. GASP! I never dreamed that she would pick me -- insert BIG shocked face! I never think that others will like my cards, so this is so stunning. I haven't been on SCS in a while, so what are the chances that I would be on there on this particular day. I guess God works in mysterious ways.

So I am hoping that this will inspire me to BLOG more, keep your finger crossed!!

The Featured Stamper this week is Nikki Schmaltz. What a beautiful gallery she has. I chose to CASE the card that you can see here.

Since my shoulder is hurting again I wanted to make a simple card. So I took out my handy-dandy DP (the one that I created with the Elements of Style stamp set). I have a little left, so be on the look out for another card with it.

I changed a few things -- embossing folder, ribbon, and nestie. I didn't use her corner punch, 'cuz I don't have it, and I added a few more pearls. I used my DP instead of doing the resist technique, but I think the essence of Nikki's beautiful card is still there.

Well it's official I REALLY overdid it today (ask Allison if you don't believe me). I think I am caught up with my comments and emails, but my shoulder is KILLING me. I spent the entire day on the computer -- I know dummy me, I will regret it later. I was able to create a card though. I had this puffy flower and the white frame already done, so I decided to use them.

Today's Featured Stamper is Cathleen aka Ctronia. WOW, Cathleen is one talented lady!! I had such a difficult time choosing which card to CASE there were so many absolutely stunning cards -- like 100, and I am NOT overestimating. You can see the card I CASEd here.

I changed a few things -- the DP, sentiment, the border punches, the ribbon, and I used a puffy flower instead of a silk one -- but it's still the same.

Today's Featured Stamper is Gloria aka GloriousGreetings. I know I say this every Sunday, but boy does she have a FANTASTIC gallery. So many wonderful cards to choose from. I saw that she has created 2 cards with my puffy flower tutorial, so I just had to CASE one of those -- don't ya think :o).

I chose to CASE this card that you can see here. I made a few changes. I made the flower out of the Nouveau Chic DP (I don't have the Night & Day one). Instead of the shapeabilites and the paper piercing, I embossed the white layer with the Elegant Bouquet folder. I colored the center's of the flowers and the scroll with my basic black marker. Then I added the ribbon, the lovely Black satin ribbon -- you have to order some of this ribbon it's so elegant :o) I love it.

Today's Featured Stamper on SCS is Dara. I chose to CASE the card that you can see here. I changed several things, but the gitz is the same. I masked off the bottom and the sun, sponged the colors, and then stamped the image and the sentiment. I added the brads, but I didn't add anything else 'cuz I wanted to keep it a CAS card.

Today's Featured Stamper is Cathy B aka Mutnik. She was also last week's Queen for the Day. She is one talented artist. Have you seen her gallery yet? The woman can color!!! Everything is so absolutely FANTASTIC.

Her style is fabulous, but way out of my norm. I decided to CASE this card. I changed the images and colors, but the layout and the embellies are the same. I wanted to use a whimsical image and color it in. I hope I did her justice.

This week's Featured stamper is Kristen aka Mommy lvs2stamp. There are so many cards to choose from, so I decided to CASE 2 of them.

Here is my first card. I CASEd this one from Kristen's Gallery. I made a few changes. I added a white base layer, extra piercings, and ribbon. I changed the sentiment, removed the button, and substituted a puffy flower for the strawberry image.

Today's Featured Stamper on SCS is Angella D Crockett aka Davey. She has a fabulous gallery, so many beautiful creations -- go visit, you won't be sorry.

I haven't created anything in a few days. When this happens, my MOJO is usually very slow to come back. I thought doing a CASE card would be a good idea to boost my MOJO. I also thought that I would do a puffy flower card, since I love them so much. I love the ones made with DP, but I must say that the ones that I have created with Velum are my most favorite.

I chose to CASE this card. This is a flap card, you can see the tutorial for these cards here. I changed the colors, stamps, and flower, but the layout is the same. My card is 4-1/4 x 4-1/4, the tutorial shows you a thinner card.

FS159 - Everythin's Coming Up Roses

Today's Featured stamper is Judy Rose. I stumbled onto Judy's gallery a few weeks ago through all the challenges I have been doing. All I can say is WOW WOW WOW. Go visit her gallery it is truly AMAZING!!! I had a difficult time choosing which card to CASE. I had saved this card to my favorites before I even knew Judy, so I thought it should be the one.

We are supposed to change at least 2 things. I changed everything but the colors, and layout -- but the card is still the same. I didn't have the pretty rhinestone ribbon slide, so I made my own. I look the rectangle ribbon slide from the hodgepodge hardware set and I used Crystal Effects to glue rhinestones around the edges. I made the puffy flowers from Velum like yesterday, but this time I sponged Groovy Guava on the edges. This is one of the Flower Pocket cards. I'm back with my card for the Featured Stamper Challenge (see here for details of challenge). I have to hurry, 'cuz The Race is going to start in 5 minutes. I think the colors are messed up on this picture. The mug and the ribbon match perfectly in real life.

I CASEd this card. I changed the Colors, ribbon, stamp, and DP. I added a button and didn't use any brads.

Today's Featured Stamper is Laurie aka HamiltonGal! I know I say this every week, but Oh my her gallery is just stocked with fabulous cards!!

I am CASEing the Easter chick that she created (you can see it here). I plan on doing a card too, but I haven't had a chance yet. I saw these little chicks last year around Easter, and I never had a chance to create one. So, today is the day to try.

I changed the ribbon that she used, the way that she tied the ribbon, and the punches that she used for the feet and the hair.

Body & Wings: largest Scallop Circle Nestie (you could use the scallop circle die cuts from SU)

Feet: Boho

Eyes: 3/4" & 1/2" circle

Hair: 5-petal flower (I punched it once and then turned it and punched it again.

Today's Featured Stamper is Barbara Anders. Oh my her gallery is absolutely the bomb. I wanted to CASE every single card. I ended up picking 2 simple cards, 'cuz I have to go shovel snow -- forever.

My first card was inspired by this card of Barbara's. I changed the ribbon, accent color, embossing folder, and sentiment

Today's Featured Stamper is Nichole aka Butterflyears. Wow she has a wonderful gallery, so many beautiful cards to choose from. Here is the card that I chose to CASE: BE_FS84_First card for gift set for Cammie.

I have wanted to try and create one of these poofy flowers. I figured this was the perfect time to use one. You punch 6-10 scallop circles out of Designer paper or Card stock -- I used Bella Bleu DP. Crinkle each scalloped circle into a tight wad. Unfold each circle. Stack all the scalloped circles together, one on top of another. Pierce a hole in the center of the stack and attach a brad. Start crumpling again, make sure the center ones are the tightest. Then fluff until you are satisfied with the look of your flower. This is my first one, it's OK -- but I think I need to practice a little more.

I placed my flower on top of a bow that I made with Chocolate Chip Satin ribbon. This card was DIFFICULT to photograph, so I don't know whether you can see the chocolate layer. I stamped the En Francais BG stamp on the chocolate chip layer with chocolate chip ink. Then I stamped the Bella Toile BG stamp over that with VersaMark ink. I embossed this with copper embossing powder. It looks really pretty.

Boy this cold is kicking my butt. It has now gone into my chest. I think yesterday is the first day in over a month that I created only one card. I spent the day yesterday laying on the couch watching TV, which if you know me that's unusual -- I don't watch TV.

The Featured Stamper this week on SCS is Karen Barber. I just discovered Karen in the last few weeks. I have been trying to do all of the challenges at SCS, and she has commented on just about all of my submissions. She is a really talented lady -- go visit. I think she is the Queen of the Black Magic technique!! She has created so many wonderful cards with this technique. I will probably do 2 cards for this challenge, 'cuz I want to do one with this technique but I don't have the energy right now. So here is the card that I CASEd from Karen's Gallery WT188Country Snowfolks. Here are the things that I changed:

• Ruby Red card stock instead of Riding Hood Red
• Black brads are below the image instead of above
• Holiday Lineup Stamp Set instead of Window Dressing
• Did not do the Faux stitching at the top -- although looking at my card maybe I should have
• Scalloped and Large oval instead of Large and Small.
• Added a button to my bow and tied ribbon differently
• Used Simple Stripes BG instead of Classic Stripe

In case you cannot tell the red layer is card stock not DP. I used the Simple Stripe BG stamp to create the plaid background. I haven't used my BG stamps in a while, I think I need to get them out and start using them again.

This is our card for the Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS. Anne had so many cards to choose from, I picked out 4 of them. Brandon (my youngest) then chose which one he wanted to help with. Here is the one that he picked. I think there is something wrong with SCS right now, so I don't know whether this link will work.

We changed a few things, but the Gist of the card is the same.

• we substituted the stamp for the Abundant Hope Stamp
• we put the sentiment with the ribbon
• we used white ribbon instead of purple
• we did different score lines
• we use a different edge punch
• we made it a layered card

I punched out a 1-1/4" square on a post-it note. We attached it to the card and Brandon sponged the squares with celery. I stamped the flower with Basic Black. Then Brandon very carefully colored the flower with Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery, and Blush Blossom (for the centers) markers. I highlighted the lines in the flowers with Lavender Lace and the petals with Old Olive, and then colored over it again with almost amethyst and certainly celery. We scored each long side from the back at 1/8" and 3/8", then the front at 1/4". Brandon lightly sponged the score line, 'cuz he thought that you wouldn't be able to see them. We punched the sentiment with the modern label punch and the side with the Scallop Trim punch. I tied the white taffeta ribbon. I think it looks up-side-down in the picture, but it's not. We stamped -off the flower in amethyst on the inside and the sentiment in Black.
